Methyl Ethyl and the Fabulous Keytones ((aka The Methyls) are a melting pot of contemporary and retro funk, soul, R&B, acid jazz and blues. The band features wailin hammond organ , tight tasty guitar and phat electric pianos surfing gritty bass and drum grooves. Add some no-nonsense-just-gimme-the-grease vocals, the Methyls cook up a gumbo of feel good music - great for the soul, infectious to the feet!
At a Methyls show you'll hear slices of 70’s new orleans funk and soul, contemporary funk/soul grooves, a hint of acid jazz, sprinklings of R&B topped off with jamband overtones and a bucket of blues attitude!
The Methyls have a unique organic vibe featuring music from The Meters, Booker T & The MGs, AWB, Bill Withers and Jimmy Smith, as well as a selection of funk and soul rarities from artists such as Ann Sexton, Chaka Khan, Erma Franklin and Angie Stone ..to name a few.
If you are into the 'Dusty groove' or 'Soulsides' scene then The Methyls will be a band for you to catch live!
The Methyls are: Deb Miller on hammond organ, electric pianos and vocals, Pete Nessfield on guitar and vocals , Ralph Miller on bass and Warren Wightman on drums.
